About me
Saskia brings a rich and diverse background to her pursuits, seamlessly blending her expertise in social work and social research with a profound connection to theatre and performing arts. With a focus on theatre education and theatre of the oppressed, she has passionately explored the transformative power of the arts to instigate social change and empower marginalised communities.
Complementing her theatrical endeavours is Saskia's extensive research background in childhood studies and children's rights, with a specific emphasis on Southern Africa. Her academic journey delves into the complexities of children in conflict with the law, addressing social justice concerns that resonate deeply with her commitment to creating positive societal shifts.

Driven by a desire to bridge the realms of performing arts and social justice research, Saskia envisions a holistic approach to community transformation in Southern Africa. Her goal is to employ the dynamic and interactive nature of the performing arts, combined with insightful, eye-to-eye research methodologies, to engage meaningfully with young people. By leveraging her dual expertise, Saskia aims to catalyse positive change in underprivileged communities, fostering empowerment and social progress.
